So, here we are. The time when you’re supposed to be enjoying your “Golden” years. As a recent retiree I am still trying to figure all of this out. I’ve been working 47 years at various jobs, in various places. Physically I could have worked another 5-7 years but mentally, I had to check out. Today’s workforce has no clue what is going on. I found that most want to be CEO in under 3 years after graduating from college. They won’t put in the work and are arrogant about it all. But that’s someone else’s problem now.
5 months into this and I’m really enjoying what I’m doing. I do find that I’m way busier than I ever was as an Engineer. (and I was busy) Between my physical activity, my photography, my drawing. painting, book ideas and comic strip, I often wonder how I balanced all that and my regular job. I’ll tell you how. I didn’t do what I loved. (My art) I did like my Engineering job. I loved to solve problems and help people. And I used to love the entire job, but then it all changed. I changed with it. So, I will tell you this much. Have faith in something, start saving early, figure out what you love to do - and do it. Help people out, it’s the right thing to do.
